The Best Places To Put Up Bandit Signs

Bandit signs can be a great source of leads for real estate investors. Every bandit sign is not equally valuable however: a bandit sign put up in the right location and at the right time will mean exponentially more leads than a sign put up in a place that gets no traffic. And we all know that more leads equals more locked up deals.

It’s no wonder then that one of the most common questions we get asked by beginner real estate investors here at SimpleCrew is “Where do I put up bandit signs?”.

In this blog post I’ll show you the three best places to put up bandit signs. The better the placement, the more people will see them and be inclined to call your number.

In Front of Walmart

One of the best places to put up bandit signs is in front of shopping centers, like Walmart. These are high volume areas that many shoppers pass by. Placing bandit signs in heavily trafficked locations like this one will almost guarantee that you will get visibility. You should always be careful of where you are putting the signs though or they may be removed by store or property owners.

You also want to be sure that your signs aren’t being overcrowded by other signs that are placed by people that had the same idea as you. You want your sign to be noticed and not have to compete with others for the visibility.

At Busy Intersections

We’ve all been there: stuck in traffic and with nothing better to do, we just look around for anything interesting that will catch our eye. That’s why another great place to put up bandits is at busy intersections and around places where people naturally have to stop, such as near stop signs and stop lights. People will stop, and, while they are waiting, will be able to view your signs clearly. This does not, however, mean you should put them at every single corner at every single intersection within a very small area. You want the visibility and coverage, without the overkill.

At Median Strips

Public medians are also the perfect location to place your bandit signs. A median strip is is the reserved area that separates opposing lanes of traffic on divided roadways. These are heavily trafficked areas as well, and it will gain you the proper exposure that you are seeking.

Remember that medians divide traffic, so you want to be sure that the signs can be seen by people traveling in both directions. If people driving in both directions can read it then you’ll double your exposure and number of potential leads! Just make sure that the strip is public property otherwise you might get in trouble with local authorities.

Rules and Regulations for Bandit Signs

There are many rules and regulations when it comes to where you can legally place bandit signs. These rules can vary enormously between cities and states and it is important to research the laws regarding the signs before placing them and possibly losing out on your marketing strategy. Don’t worry though: there’s no reason to be scared of putting up bandit signs.
